15 Reasons Why You're A Disney Princess

Hear ye, hear ye:
Since I just got back from my amazing Disney cruise, I decided to throw some Disney into this week's post.

So straighten your crown, polish those glass slippers, and waltz on down to find 15 reasons why you are a Disney princess*.
*yes, I am aware that some of these aren't technically princesses, but they are Disney heroines, so I'm roping them in.

1) You sleep like a princess.
Whether you sleep like this:

Or like this:
You definitely have royal blood.

2) You have the talents of a princess.
Art, music, archery, horsemanship, dancing, canoeing, even sword-fighting all fall under the list of princessy talents.

3) You dance like a princess.
Even if your efforts end up more like this:
Than this:

that still counts as dancing, and every princess knows how to boogie at a ball.

4) You smile like a princess.
You can't see yourself when you're all aglow and laughing and radiating joy, but I can promise you that you look nothing short of glorious.

5) You get hurt like a princess.
I can't think of a single Disney heroine who doesn't end up wounded, stranded, or heartbroken at some point. When that happens, don't despair; it just means you are becoming stronger.

6) You kick butt like a princess.
With all the strength of a raging fire, girl.

7) You encounter wildlife like a princess.
Ever seen a squirrel? Had a dog lick your hand? Totally counts.

8) You need help like a princess.
Wanted thief, mystical woman in a tree, demigod, lucky cricket - everyone needs somebody to help them along.

9) You deal with loser men like a princess.
Just slam the door in his face, girl.

10) You are brave like a princess.
Whatever it is you have faced in the past, you had the courage to face it.

11) You're dramatic like a princess.
Have you ever thrown yourself down and sobbed?
Congratulations, you're a princess.

12) You're imperfect like a princess.
Nobody's perfect, princesses included.

13)  You sing like a princess.
Same argument here as dancing and sleeping - if you do it at all, it counts.

14) You are loyal and loving like a princess.
You take care of your friends and family, and you shine your love wherever you go.

15) You are a literal daughter of a King.
The King of Kings is your Father. You are a daughter of the Almighty God, and you have inherited His divine qualities and potential.

"All human beings - male and female - are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny."

Keep your head high, Princess.
Otherwise the crown slips.

The Panic Button Override

See this button?

My hand likes this button.

I say something awkward, someone is late to meet me, I make eye contact with a boy, and I just:

But good news!
There's an override.

It's called the Holy Ghost.

Usually when we talk about feeling the Spirit, it's about a really good Relief Society lesson, or when we've been in the depths of sorrow and prayed for help, or when we're in the temple, but the Holy Ghost is also available to us when we're stressed out over homework or terrified of a second date.

He can sooth your everyday troubles.
He can put your doubts to sleep.
He can disconnect you from those electric fears.

But only if you let Him.

The Holy Ghost can't override your panic button if you have both hands firmly pressed down on it. You have to trust God and learn to open up a place in your heart for His Spirit to enter.

I struggle with the panic button, but more than that I struggle with the fact that I struggle with the panic button. I hate the fear and anxiety that makes me turn away from situations or people that could bring me joy. I hate feeling like I'm not brave.

But, if I remember to invite the Spirit into my life, I know that I can be made whole and find peace.

Life is crazy.
There will definitely be times when that panic button looks like a good option, but please hold out for a better one:

the peace of God.

How to Attract a Mate at BYU

So, I don't know about you, but I flip flop between wanting a husband/family RIGHT NOW and wanting nothing to do with the opposite sex.
It's such a struggle.
You know why?
Because dating is basically hell, that's why.

But have no fear!
Around Valentine's Day, some of my friends and I starting putting together a how-to guide of sorts, and I have finally put it together into this awesome video.
Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend trying all of these strategies, it's at least good for a laugh.

Enjoy!
