I'm going to be honest, there will be times when you feel more like a penny stuck in gum on the sidewalk than a million bucks, but here are some simple ways to help you feel good about yourself even while your body is growing and changing and aching and barfing and just experiencing that roller coaster ride known as pregnancy.
1) Get your nails done
This is a good feel-good-about-yourself tip for any time, not just while being pregnant. It's a quick pick me up to help you feel put together.
There are a few cautions when it comes to getting nails done while pregnant, but for the most part, you can enjoy this just as you can any other time! Let yourself relax and be pampered, and get your toes bright and painted by someone who (unlike you) can actually reach your feet!
2) Sleep
You're going to need wayyyy more sleep than you might think is reasonable. You might get frustrated with how tired you are and feel like you should just power through your work, but trust me, that ornery or overwhelmed feeling you get when tired is multiplied by a thousand when you're pregnant - it is much better to take a nap than to push through and have a meltdown.
3) Eat
This one goes with number 2 - you have to eat way more frequently when you're pregnant, and you might be surprised what sounds good. Of course you want to try to eat as healthily as you can, but my general rule of thumb is if it sounds good, eat it or drink it. Getting calories and nutrients is super important, especially if you're stuck in those nasty few months where almost everything makes you queasy. There are a few things pregnant women shouldn't eat or should be cautious about, but let yourself indulge in lunches out or in an extra popsicle.
4) Get Good Shoes
This makes a WORLD of difference, let me tell you. Comfort is key. So is being able to get them on easily without bending over. Trust me on that one.
These are the shoes that I have fallen in love with, and so has everyone else who has tried them! My mom, grandma, and boss all tried mine on and my mom and grandma ordered theirs that same day. I ordered another pair in another color too. Yes, they're made by Crocs, which may cause some involuntary cringing, but I promise they're AMAZING.

5) Get Your Glow On
You might have that "pregnancy glow" going, or you might feel like baby is sucking all your beauty out, leaving none left for you. Either way, here are some products I've been using to help me stay fresh and glowy!
The bane of my skin's existence is dryness, so I use these 3 products at least twice a day each:
Equate Daily Moisturizing Lotion

A nice lotion that is super hydrating without being heavy on my face. It works just as well as the Aveeno brand and is cheaper!
Aquaphor
This stuff has been a staple of mine for years. I mainly use it on my lips, which get ridiculously dry throughout the day and night, but I also use it on other super dry patches and my hands and feet - usually at night. AND I use it to remove eye makeup. It gets even the stubborn waterproof stuff and is super gentle and non-irritating, unlike literally all other makeup removers. Get travel sized ones for your backpack or purse and, if you're going to use it as much as me, invest in one of the giant tubs to keep in your nightstand or bathroom.
Bio Oil

I've only recently decided to give facial oil a try, and I really feel like it's helped my face get glowy instead of flaky or ashy. I'll rub it in before I go to sleep, and I put it on after moisturizing my face where I would want a little extra dewy glow.
Bonus: Face Masks
Have a face mask night with some girlfriends (or in my case, with a sister-in-law and your hubby!) and you'll be amazed at how human it helps you feel. You get that social aspect as well as a lovely, smooth, hydrated, glowy face! Pair it with some binge watching of Nailed It! on Netflix, and it's a pretty awesome night.
I hope these tips help you feel like a million bucks!!
