What It's Really Like to Be Pregnant

Yes, I'm still alive and well - sorry for not posting for a while!

Some milestones/events that have happened over the last few weeks:
-I have one pair of regular pants I can still wear - all the rest have been packed away for post-baby days. Bring on the shopping trips!
-Along with that, my belly is getting bigger and bigger and I'm so excited about it!!
-Nausea is mostly gone now (aside from a very embarrassing and public occurrance in Costa Vida yesterday...)
-Oh yeah - we found out baby's GENDER!!!!!! (I'll do a post on that soon - I have to wait until I can reveal it to my dance girls on Wednesday - look for us in Provo's Parade!)

For today's post, I wanted to do something very honest and give you a look into what it's really like to be pregnant:

There's a big shiny beautiful gift under the Christmas tree, and it's got your name on it, and you think you know what it is and you can barely contain your excitement and it's all you can do not to peek.
Being pregnant is like that.

You just finished the most intense officer camp/line camp/boot camp of your life and you're so tired (physically, mentally, and emotionally) that you don't even know what to do with yourself except maybe lie on the floor or cry and also a shake sounds good.
Being pregnant is like that.

You're 5 years old and watching fireworks for the first time, and you didn't even know something this beautiful and magical existed but now you can't imagine a world without it.
Being pregnant is like that.

You have the stomach flu. For 4 months.
Being pregnant is like that.

You are head over heels in love with someone, and you literally didn't think it was possible to love someone this much, and then they smile in a certain way and oh my gosh not only is that possible, but it's possible to love them even more.
Being pregnant is like that.

Something happens that makes you take a step back and think, "When did I get old enough for this? Aren't I still a child? I have no idea what I'm doing."
Being pregnant is like that.

You're PMSing, and you know that's why you're bawling at a commercial for dog food, and you kind of hate that you're doing this, but gosh flipping dang it, it's that puppy's fault for having such big eyes.
Being pregnant is like that.

It's the craziest, most nauseous, most awe-inspiring, incredible, difficult, and wonderful thing imaginable.

Ever heard of a miracle?

Being pregnant is like that.
